“The Green Garden”, garden center in Cyprus is a family owned business. It was established by Mr. & Mrs. Themistocleous in the year 1979.  Andreas Themistocleous was a citrus fruit and grape producer when he decided to grow a few young citrus trees for sale, as during those days, the cultivation of citrus trees was very popular on the island.

He began by opening a small shop however, over the years he introduced more and more fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs and bushes followed by indoor plants.

The small shop gradually became a bigger shop and eventually, over the years that followed became the largest garden center on the island of Cyprus, after the lash expansion in the year 1998, and has since been very well known of the very high quality standards of its plants and services in general.

 

Mr. Andreas is now the managing director of the company and he is responsible of the plant production. He controls the quality of the plants as only he knows and is very respectable from all his colleagues on the island for what he can achieve on quality using the precise nutrients and his own secret methods! He is also responsible for the outdoor plants and material stocks and orders.

 

Mrs. Olympia, the wife of Andreas, is responsible for placing orders and stocking indoor plants and other materials as well as being the person in charge of the shop and making sure everything runs perfectly. 

 

 

 

In the year 1994, the eldest son of the family joined the company only to leave two years later to fulfill his studies on landscape architecture and construction, horticulture & amenity in Gloucestershire, UK. He was back into the business as soon as he had finished his studies and began his career by adding landscape design and construction as yet another service of “The Green Garden”.

 

Nicos is now the director of the company and is very well known for his art and his perfection on what he creates, with the help of his staff, since a very large amount of projects have been designed and constructed by him for more than a decade. As a horticulturist he has gained great knowledge and experience in his field. He is also responsible for the marketing and promotion of the company as he had also completed a three year course of a higher diploma in Graphic design, advertising and marketing, in a local collage.

 

Nicos’ wife Mariana and his sister Elena are both professional florists who fulfilled their studies in the UK too. Both talented and experienced, they create unique results on fresh flower arrangements and hand tied bouquets and are well known for their work.

 

The youngest son of the family, Chris, has joined the company in 2005. He also studied in the UK completing a National diploma in Amenity landscaping & Horticulture and is now the second professional landscaper in the company. He too undertakes responsibilities on garden design, consultation and construction. During the tree years of his presence in the company, he has already created important projects.

All the family together, creates a strong team as each have their own responsibilities but in a way help each other too. Therefore as a fully completed puzzle, they work together and achieve unbeatable results on whatever they do!
